Winter Clothing for Kids

Posted on 07 January 2010

kidsIn the colder months of the year, kids clothing is particularly important. They have to be warm, and functional at the same time, allowing movement and be easy to care for. Some locations are more extreme than others, as some climates can include snow, lots of rain, or just a chilly wind. These aspects will help you define what is needed for your kids clothing.

Fabrics are important, even more important that the cut or style. You may find a nice, long coat for them, but if the fabric is wrong it is useless. Wool or cotton fabrics, although warm, they absorb water and are not appropriate for outer wear. A wool sweater layered with a rain coat is more suiting for wet climates. Fabric that doesn’t allow wind to pass through it is better for windy climates. And insulated jackets with a synthetic outside is suitable for snowy climates.

Of course there are also the given accessories, rain boots for wet climates, scarves for cold climates, earmuffs for very cold climates, warm socks and sometimes leggings to layer for warmth.
